TESTIMONIALS
The spa is located on the third floor of an office building next to an Athletic Club. I parked in the lot and watched all those athletic-types grab their gear and head for the club's exercise machines. I took an elevator to the third floor and entered a sensuous, relaxing place where I was greeted with soft music, fresh flowers, and glowing candles. I felt like I was on vacation. This was my kind of place. I filled out some paperwork that helped the clinicians know more about me, my eating habits, my physical condition and my goals. I spent about 30 minutes visiting with Deborah as she went over the details of the program. She explained that, while the program would take care of my old accumulated fat, I'd need to follow a dining plan in order to avoid adding new fat. After all, I didn’t want to spend all this time and money just to get back to the way I was. The dining plan is chemically
balanced to produce certain results and consists of fish, chicken, beef,
vegetables, fruit AND lots of water.
The “liposuction-without-surgery” program involves five basic elements: re-balancing the body's energy; improving circulation; detoxifying and cleansing the blood; improving the body's ability to eliminate waste; and, finally, toning and firming. “Fat is just toxins that have built up in the body,” explained Deborah. “We will use creams, lotions and machines to break down the fat (visualize a stick of butter fresh from the refrigerator), melt it, and help your body eliminate it.” That explanation helped me understand what I was about to experience. But little did I know the experience would make me feel like a movie star. You know, the ones that go to expensive European spas and have people working on them while they just lay there enjoying the relaxing mood. Treating people like movie stars was exactly the reason Deborah founded The Body Beaute in her home state of Delaware ten years ago. (She now has salons in Delaware, Newport Beach and Beverly Hills). She'd had a weight problem and, like many of us, had little success with traditional diets and exercise. Then she visited a world-famous salon in New York and found the program that worked on her physical body, but left her wanting emotionally. “It was a sterile, clinical environment,” said Deborah. “I was thrilled with the program, but thought it should be a place that addressed the whole person, not just the physical body. I was determined to learn how I could create a place that did both.” Deborah's search took her all over the world. She studied under experts. She found equipment in Europe, creams and lotions in the salons of France, Spain and Germany. She investigated new equipment, techniques and products wherever she'd find them. In fact, Deborah continues to travel worldwide in search of new and innovative products and procedures to bring home to her three salons and hundreds of happy clients. My sessions began in a steam cabinet in a beautifully decorated, private spa room. The heat prepares the body for what's to come. Deborah also explains that re-balancing the body's energy is like moving a fallen tree out of a stream. The water on one side of the fallen tree is dirty and stagnant while the other side's water is running clear and free. That's what happens when the body's energy gets blocked. I lie on the warm table and
listen to soothing music while my energy fields are being unblocked
using acupressure, colored lights and various machines. At the same
time, wonderfully exotic oils are massaged into my skin to detoxify
the blood and improve circulation. Susan explained, “This is important
so the toxins can efficiently be carried from the body as they are being
released.” Each session is designed especially for my body and the results we’re trying to achieve. If my body doesn’t respond as effectively to one treatment, another one is devised. Deborah has more than 120 different treatments available to the staff. Each session was a wonderfully, sensuous surprise. After several sessions, the regimen turns to toning and firming. “Toning and firming without doing the other things first, is like putting wax on a dirty floor,” explained Deborah. Remember those folks next door at the Athletic Club. They’re stair stepping, exercising and sweating their way to tony. I, on the other hand, am hooked up to a machine that directs electric energy to my buttocks, thighs, and stomach muscles equivalent to 1500 sit-ups per hour. I do all this exercising while lying on a luxurious bed reading a magazine. Wonderfully aromatic creams and lotions are the finishing touches. I told you this was my kind of place. My sessions lasted eight weeks. Results differ with each client but I lost two dress sizes and the excess around my middle. During the two months, I met several other satisfied clients: the wife of a Schwarzenegger cabinet member who had been an exercise junky but was never able to get rid of her unwanted tummy fat. Oversized shirts hid it. After just one month, she’d lost four dress sizes and was ready to handle whatever Sacramento had to hand her in some sexy new clothes. I met a model whose company sent her a dress two sizes too small and insisted she needed to be able to wear it in a week. After five Body Beaute sessions, she wore the dress with room to spare. Men are also raving fans of The Body Beaute. Bill is an executive who had that around the middle spread so familiar to so many men. He was determined to gain his svelte physique back. After just a couple months, Bill lost five pant sizes and keeps the pounds under control with a once-a-month tune-up at the salon. Another thing I learned about Deborah: she walks the walk! She truly cares about each one of her clients and is their biggest cheerleader. In addition, the salon does several fundraisers annually for local charities. This year, their charity of choice is the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Orange County and the Inland Empire. On October 2nd and 3rd the salon, usually closed on Sunday, will be hold special introductory sessions for new clients. For $265 (an $800 value), you can get a get-acquainted session. What a perfect way to give The Body Beaute a try. And, best of all, you’ll be able to experience the wonder of The Body Beaute for yourself and your treatment is tax deductible. What could be better? The Body Beaute is the only salon in Newport Beach to offer what I call “liposuction without surgery”. "Detoxification, European
essential oils, and lymph drainage were the key. It was a new concept
to me so I got out my Gray's Anatomy book and looked it up. It explained
that the lymphatic glands are subject to passive drainage. These glands
are like hollow tubes with no muscle power so they are victims to whatever
is around them," she explains. Are
